Judge Requirements

Judging Requirements per School (READ CAREFULLY!)

IN-PERSON SPEECH JUDGE REQUIREMENTS:

Teams with entries in Speech (FX, DX, HI, DI, OO, INFO, DUO, DUET, POI, PR, PO) are required to enter a minimum of ONE full time judge per every 6 entries, with a max of 3 judges owed. Those judges must be available for the duration of whichever Speech Tournament they enter. If your students are registered only for the Friday tournament, then your judges must be available for all Friday rounds. If your students are only registered for the Saturday tournament, then your judges must be available for all Saturday rounds. If your school has students entered in BOTH tournaments, then your judges needs to be available for BOTH tournaments (all rounds). You may enter different judges for each day, but you must communicate with the tournament as to their availability. Failure to register a judge will result in being dropped from the tournament.

IN-PERSON DEBATE JUDGE REQUIREMENTS:

Teams with entries in CX or WSD are responsible for providing one judge for every two entries in each event or portion thereof.

Teams with entries in LD or PF are responsible for providing one judge for every four entries in each event or portion thereof.

All school judges are responsible for judging all prelims and one round past elimination. Failure to register the required number of judges will result in being dropped from the tournament.

ONLINE DEBATE JUDGE REQUIREMENTS:

Teams with ONLINE entries in LD, PF, CX, or WSD are responsible for providing one judge for every two entries in each event or portion thereof.
All school judges are responsible for judging all prelims and one round past elimination. Failure to register the required number of judges will result in being dropped from the tournament.

CONGRESS JUDGE REQUIREMENTS:

Teams with entries in Congress (either online or in-person) are responsible for providing one judge if your school has any entries OR paying a $25 fee.
