ICDA 1 Invite
Elk Grove High School cordially invites you and your Congressional debaters to the ICDA 1 Student Congress Invitational on Saturday, September 26, 2026!
Levels: At ICDA 1, we are inviting up to 45 varsity debaters per school plus an unlimited number of novice debaters for each school. There will be novice workshops offered during Session 1. Please email Chris D'Amico (cdamico@d127.org) if you would like to lead a Novice Workshop during Session 1 at ICDA 1. Leading a Novice Workshop counts as fulfilling a judging requirement for Session 1.
Legislation: Legislation for ICDA1 can be foundhere. Varsity will be debating all 9 bills. Novices will be debating 6 bills (101-102-201-202-301-302)
Pizza: We will be catering LouMalnati’s for students. Cheese will be $18/pizza and pepperoni or sausage will be $20/pizza. Please register for pizzas on Tabroom no later than Friday 09/18 at 5:00PM. Pizza checks are due upon check-in.
Entry Deadline: Please register your debaters on Tabroom by Friday 09/18 at 5:00PM . If you are having issues with Tabroom, please contact Carl Schwartz (cschwartz@d211.org).

Tournament Schedule:
Committees/Coach and Judge meeting: 7:40 - 8:00 a.m.
Session 1: 8:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
Session 2: 10:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Lunch: 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
Session 3: 1:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Elections/Awards ASAP
Parking: You can enter the parking lot two ways. One entrance is off of Arlington Heights road and it will bring you directly into the back parking lot where everyone will enter. The other option is accessing the parking lot via Rev Morrison Blvd off of Elk Grove Blvd. Either will bring you to the back parking lot. You will see the football field and our white buses. Teams will enter through Door 29 (under the canopy). Registration will be at tables upon entry of the doors. The cafeteria is to the right of the entrance and registration.
Judging: Each team is required to bring one judge for every nine entries.
**New for 2026-27** When you enter your judges in Tabroom, please answer the three required questions that appear upon registration. You do not have to enter anything into the “Qualification History” box.

New Judges: Dustin Zubert is having the new judge training on Zoom, Wednesday September 9th at 7:00PM. All new judges should attend this meeting. He will also have an in person new judge training during Session 1 at the tournament (room TBD). If you have a new judge that is attending this training, please make sure you have another judge to cover Session 1. New judges attending the in person training during Session 1 does not count as fulfilling a judging assignment for Session 1. Zoom Link for New Judge Training on Wednesday September 9th at 7:00PM.
