Join students from across the region for an engaging day of debate, critical thinking, and civil discourse. Competitors will explore a timely question about how America elects its president while developing the skills to speak clearly, listen respectfully, and defend their ideas.
2027 Debate Topic
Resolved: The primary responsibility for disaster preparedness and response in the United States should rest with state and local governments rather than the federal government.
Top regional competitors will have the opportunity to advance to the Ronald Reagan Debate Series National
Championship at the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

Important Information for Coaches & Parents
Registration

Students must be registered by an adult (coach or parent). Student-only teams are not permitted.

Each institution must provide at least one judge.

For more than two students, one additional judge is required for every two students.
Fees & Accounts

Entry fee: $15 per debater.

All debaters, judges, and coaches must have Tabroom accounts.

Fees are non-refundable, but debaters may be replaced if a student is unable to attend.

If the fee creates a financial hardship, please contact us—we are happy to help.

Breakfast and lunch are provided for all participants.

Student entries will remain on the waitlist until judges are entered and fees are paid.

Judge Requirements

Judges must have a Tabroom account with a current phone number listed so we can reach them during the tournament.

Eligibility

Participants must be high school–aged and enrolled in an accredited high school, virtual school, or homeschool program.

Graduated students may not compete unless they are mid-year graduates.

Middle school students may attend regional tournaments; however, they are not eligible to compete.
Media Release
-
All participants under 18 must have a completed media release form submitted before arrival on tournament day.

Participants who are 18 may sign their own form.
