You are cordially invited to attend the City Classic Debates, beginning January 29th, 2016 at 4:00pm concluding January 30th, 2016 around 8pm.

Three features of the Classic you've come to expect:

First, we offer nine NSDA and IHSSA speech events, and an double-entry IE pattern that provides an excellent opportunity for speakers to perform ahead of IHSSA District Speech and NSDA District Speech, both held in February 2016.  We will do our best to accomodate as many speakers and events as possible, but please note that low-entry events may need to be combined with other similar events, or if events are unpopulated they may be cancelled. 

Second, Tower Trophies!  These trophies are replicas of the famous City High Tower, shown at right, to the top finishers in all IE events, and to all first place/top speakers in all debate divisions.  City High's tower was modeled in the 1940's on the State of Iowa's Old Capitol tower, and is an iconic part of our east side cityscape.

 Third, City High rolls out the red carpet for judges and coaches, featuring a fully stocked lounge area with favorites you've come to expect and enjoy like Venezuelan pollo criole, white chicken chili, pulled pork sandwiches, and homemade cookies.
