Welcome to the 2026-27 Interp Season!

The Roosevelt Competitive Speech Team is very excited to host you all on Friday, October 30th.

Registration

Registration is due by 7 pm on Wednesday, October 28th; fees will be final at that time. Any changes after that time will have to be emailed directly to Virginia and Izzy. Individual events are $8, duo is $12, and RT is $18 per entry. We are allowing triple entries this year; however, please make sure you only allow your most responsible students to do this.

Events Offered

We will be offering both Novice and Varsity divisions this year; however, if we deem there to be a small number, we will collapse into one division. We will offer Drama, Humor, Duo, Non-Original Oratory, Storytelling, Poetry, POI, and Readers Theater.

NIETOC bids

For those of you who are interested in earning bids to NIETOC in Aurora, Colorado, in May, we are glad to state that we are still a NIETOC Bid tournament. The number of bids in each event will be announced as we get registrations turned in.

Ballots & Judging

We will not be offering hired judges this year. You will simply have a 70$ fee for each missing judge. Additionally, if you are a coach and don’t have your judge requirement met, you will be put in the judge pool. We will be using online ballots again this year. That means you need to bring an electronic device to at least submit your rankings. If you’d like to do written comment sheets, we will have blank paper available. If you need help setting up Tabroom, we will have a helper available. There will be a short questionnaire for judges to fill out just so competitors can have some background knowledge on their judges.

8:00 pm Readers Theater Finals

8:15 pm Individual Events and Duo Finals (Varsity & Novice)

ASAP Awards

Concessions/Tabroom

Concessions will be available in the commons area. A judges'/coaches' lounge will be available in the staff lounge in E-wing. The tabroom will be located in the library; feel free to come ask questions or address any concerns with us.

Parking/Drop Off

Please do not come to the building before 2:15 so we don’t get in the way of passing periods and cause disruptions! Additionally, we ask that you use the Auditorium door entrance, aka U door across from the football field. We will have someone stationed there to let you in and guide you directly into the auditorium. DO NOT WANDER THE SCHOOL! Please don’t use the main entrance, as it overwhelms our welcome window and admin staff. Thank you!
