Scholars of Speech May Meet

THE LOCATION: 17052 Gillette Ave, Irvine, CA 92614

The tournament will offer competition for elementary, middle, and high school students.

  • Middle schoolers (seven and eighth grade) can judge elementary schoolers.
  • High schoolers (tenth through twelfth grade) can judge middle schoolers.
  • Parents/community judges can judge any division.

Students may triple enter in speech events (including SPAR). They should not enter in more than two events if doing Congress.

Public speaking awards will follow the GOLD/SILVER/BRONZE system familiar in the California Community College Forensics Association tournaments.

Schedule (Morning Rounds):

  • 9 AM - Round 1
  • 10:30 AM - Round 2
  • 11:45 AM - Round 3
  • ASAP - Awards

Elementary Events:

Five-Minute Public Address (INF/OO), Five-Minute Acting (DEC/OPP/PRO/POE/STY), Impromptu, Spontaneous Argumentation, Congress

Middle/High School Events:

Ten-Minute Public Address (EXP/INFO/OO), Ten-Minute Acting (DEC/OPP/PRO/POE/STY), Impromptu, Spontaneous Argumentation, Congress
