Hello all,
I hope everyone is having a great forensics season! I wanted togaugesome interest to see if any schools would be interested inreal-deal, last-chance state qualifying forensics tournament for the Flint Hills crew (as well as some other cool schools) right at the end of April that Heights would host.
It would follow the normal last-chance tournament format: You cannot enter someone into an event if they have already qualified in it. For instance, if they are a state qualifier in impromptu, they can still take a shot at info-10 if they want to, but they cannot do impromptu.
The tournament would take place on Friday, April 24th, at Shawnee Heights. It would be a two-round tournament with finals serving as the third round.
We will use the following times as start times:
-
Round #1: 3:30 pm.
-
Round #2: 5:00 pm.
- Finals: 6:30 or ASAP.
Stuff I don’t know quite yet (or haven’t decided on):
-
The cost for entries (It will either be $0 or a minuscule amount per team to cover buying pizza for judges/students).
-
Medals (I might get some for top 2, top 6, or none. I would really like to be able to present them with something, though).
-
Finals structure (I like the idea of cumulative like normal, but the idea of a cutthroat finals where the best two in finals make it scratches my competitive itch. Very open to ideas there).
-
I am the head track coach at Shawnee Heights Middle School, so I probably be there after 5:00. I will make sure my other coaches are there, though.
If everyone brings a judge, Heights will also participate; however, if anyone has any major issues with that, I am okay with being flexible and opting us out.
If you are intrigued by the idea, please let me know as soon as possible. SHMS has a home track meet that week already, and I would love to get any feedback, so I can plan my week accordingly.
If you have any questions, please let me know here or text/call me at 913-240-7814.
