Events & Eligibility

Students enrolled in grades 5-8 are eligible to compete at this tournament.

Events offered: Congress; Impromptu; Extemporaneous; Original Advocacy/Original Oratory (combined); Parliamentary Debate

Students may double-enter in any combination of events at their own-risk, EXCEPT for Congress; students entered in Congress may only compete in Congress.

Speech events and Congress will follow NSDA Rules. Parliamentary Debate will follow NPDL Round Rules.

Judge Requirements

The judging obligation is 1 judge per 2 entries for Debate events and rounds up (e.g. if you have 3 entries you owe 2 judges).

The judging obligation is 1 judge per 3 entries for Speech events and Congress and rounds up (e.g. if you have 4 entries you owe 2 judges).

High School students with varsity-level competitive experience may judge. Judges must have Tabroom.com accounts with their email and phone number, and must have completed NSDA Level 1 accreditation trainings.

Fees & Payment

$20 per entry in all Speech events & Congress

$40 per entry in Parliamentary Debate

No hired judges are available for this tournament.

$50 nuisance fines may be assessed for judges who fail to show up for rounds.
