Free Dog of War ASync Speech Invitational
2026 — Online, IA/US
Main
Hey all,
I know that this is a busy time of year for everyone. This is the start of the NSDA qualifier season, the big push for the late winter/final ToC bids, and the start of state tournament season. It can be hard to find ways to get your speech students a few more rounds of practice so that they can lock in their pieces for the spring.
That is why I’d like to invite you and your students to a FREE a-sync speech tournament. Registration is now open; the final deadline to enter is January 30th at noon. All links are due by February 1st at noon.
We will provide excellent competition, expert judging, 5 prelim rounds, awards for the top 3 in each category (at a minimum), and a great warm-up before the big push into the spring. Please pass this information along to anyone you think might be interested. I’d love to see as many people signed up for this from as many places as possible.
*This event is only for high school students. This is an open division. There is no novice.
*This is a free tournament. The tournament staff asks that when making entries, do not use placeholders.
*We will offer all NSDA main events except for extemp. This includes Info, OO, DI, HI, Duo, and POI. We will use NSDA rules and guidelines for judging.
*This event is a-sync. All events must be submitted via a video link. This link must be accessible to the judges and tournament staff. It is the responsibility of the student and the coach to ensure the link is accessible. Entries with links that are not accessible will be removed from that event.
*The tournament will not make these video links public. They will only be provided to the judges through Tabroom.
*Independent entries and Clubs are welcome to enter.
*Every school, club, or indy entry must have an adult contact. Student-run programs need to find an adult contact to be their representative if the tournament needs to reach out. The tournament staff reserves the right to remove student run entries.
*Schools are allowed unlimited entries as long as they meet their judging obligation (see below).
*Students may enter up to three events. They may only enter any given event once. For example, Jack Smith may enter OO, Info, and POI, but not 2 OO’s and a POI.
*The judging obligation is 1 judge for every 5 entries or fraction thereof. For example, 7 entries would require 2 judges. Because judging occurs over the course of a week at the judge's leisure, all judges are obligated for 5 rounds. The tournament does not have any judging available to hire.
*All judges must be out of high school. No high school student is allowed to judge.
*All entries will be waitlisted until the judging obligation is met.
*There will be 5 prelim rounds.
*Judging will take place online via the NSDA Tabroom platform. Ballots will be released on February 2nd at 8 AM. All ballots are due on February 6th at noon. All results and NSDA points will be released in the afternoon of February 6th.
*Schools that have judges that fail to submit their ballots by noon on the 6th will have their student’s results withheld until this is complete.
*Based on entry numbers, the Dog of War plans to present the top 3 entries in each division with medals. Should our entry numbers justify awarding more, we will.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
