Dear ICDA Coaches –

Hoffman Estates High School is excited to host ICDA 5/TOC on Saturday, January 24th , 2026!

Below are the details for the tournament:

Tournament Registration Fee
The entry fee is $10 per debater. This is based on your original registration on tabroom.com.

Entry Deadline
All entries are due by 5:00 P.M. Friday, January 16th in tabroom.com.

Legislation:
ꞏ Submissions for the February 21st ICDA State Tournament (ICDA VI) must be submitted to Tabroom with
your ICDA 5 registration on January 16th.

Judging
Each school is required to provide one judge for each session for every nine entries. The number of judges you
are responsible for is based on the original entry;drops will not be considered while scheduling judges.
● Please remind your judges to bring a laptop so they can judge the round.
● Judges should be entered on Tabroom no later than Wednesday, January 21st at 5 PM.
● All judges should have a Tabroom account that is linked to your school.
● A full-time judge is considered as someone who judges THREE full rounds over the
one-day period.
● Judging assignments will be posted at the tournament.
● Judging assignments will not be available until the day of the tournament.
● Judging assignments and responsibilities will be based upon original registration at the
entry deadline; drops will not be considered when scheduling judges.
● It is the responsibility of the head coach to ensure that ALL hired judges are trained and
prepared to judge the event.

Reminder if you have TOC debaters you will need to have experienced judges prepared for those
chambers. (ie. Coaches or judged well versed with the judging rubric).

Parking
Buses should drop off students at Door 1, which is in the front of the school facing the stadium.
The entrance for this parking lot is off Higgins Road. Parking for buses and individual cars can also be in the
front parking lot.

Schedule
Registration 7:15 - 7:45am

Judge meeting 7:55 - 8:10am

Session 1 8:15 - 10:30am

Break 10:30 - 11:00am

Session 2 11:00 – 1:00pm

Lunch 1:00 – 1:40 pm

Session 3 1:45pm - 3:45pm

Awards ASAP

Food
Debaters may bring their own lunches or purchase pizza ahead of time. Pizzas will be available for pre-order
until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16th .

The cost will be $18 for cheese pizza and $19 for either sausage or pepperoni pizza.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for the coaches and judges.

Awards
Awards will be in the Auditorium.

Please anticipate approximately 45-60 minutes after Round 3 prior to the awards ceremony.
