This is the Tabroom page for Katy ISD Novice Night #3. It will be hosted at Seven Lakes HS on Tuesday, February 3. Any entries outside of Katy ISD will be deleted.
Students may only enter a maximum of 1 debate event OR 2 speech events. Cross entry between Speech and Debate is impossible.

No novice topics will be used.
PF will use the 2026 February topic -- Resolved: The Federal Trade Commission should establish a federal regulatory framework for sports betting.
LD will use the 2026 January/February topic -- Resolved: The possession of nuclear weapons is immoral.
CX will use the 2025-26 topic -- Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.
WSD:
R1 -- Impromptu
R2 --This House believes that hacktivism is a legitimate tool of resistance
Congress:
Congressional Debate will be limited to the following bills from the Spring 2026 TFA Docket, and they shall be debated in this order: 1, 6, 10, 19, 20
If a chamber exhausts all 5 items of legislation, they may take docket nominations from the floor. Individual chambers are welcome to table legislation if they wish to skip it entirely or come back to it later. All bills must have at least 1 speech in affirmation or negation before the previous question may be moved, unless the chamber has hit the hard stop time. Students shall be elected as presiding officers, as with a regular TFA tournament, during the session.

4:30 pm - Round 1 Start

3:45 pm - Report to chamber
4:00 pm - Go over procedures, questions from chamber
4:10 pm - First speech begins
6:30 pm - Minimum debate time
7:10 pm - Hard stop all chambers
