Dear UIL Coordinators and Coaches,
Lake Ridge High School is excited to host the UIL Invitational B once again! Following the success and strong participation of last year’s tournament, we are thrilled to welcome schools back for another year of high-quality competition as teams prepare for district contests.
We cordially invite you to join us on Saturday, February 28, 2026, and look forward to hosting your students for a well-organized and competitive invitational.
Registration & Deadlines
All academic, speech, and debate entries must be registered through Tabroom:

New Entries Due: February 23, 2026 – 11:59 PM CST
Judge Registration Due: February 24, 2026 – 11:59 PM CST
Fees & Obligations Freeze: February 24, 2026 – 11:59 PM CST
Drops & Name Changes Due: February 25, 2026 – 11:59 PM CST
After February 25, please contact Heather Thompson directly for any additional drops or name changes.

Materials
UIL Set B materials will be used for all applicable academic events, except Spelling & Vocabulary (ASW).
At the conclusion of the tournament, a digital copy of all Set B materials will be sent to schools that registered and paid entry fees.Divisions
Due to increased enrollment and the success of last year’s tournament, we will be separating schools by classification for awards and placings:

Large Schools: 5A & 6A
-
Small Schools: 1A–4A
This change enables greater recognition and more medal opportunities for students.
Additionally, 9/10- and 11/12-grade divisions will be offered for individual placementsin all applicable math and science events.
Schedule
A slightly modified schedule will be used.

Please ensure that students are not entered in overlapping events. We will not hold tests or allow late testing for cross-entries.

Judges & Graders
Schools are expected to provide judges and graders for the events in which they are entered.

Academic Events:

1 grader or coach for each academic event entered

Failure to provide a grader may result in students being ineligible to place

LD Debate:
-
1 judge for every 4 entries or fewer.

Missing judge fee: $150
-
Interp & Extemp:
-
1 judge for every 6 entries or fewer

Missing judge fee: $150
(We strongly prefer judges over fees but understand that arrangements are not always possible.)
Food & Hospitality
A concession stand will be available for breakfast and lunch.
A hospitality room will be provided for coaches, judges, and bus drivers. We take pride in our hospitality and are working to make it especially welcoming!Additional Information
