Birmingham Urban Debate League

Dear Colleagues: Impact America cordially invites you to attend the Birmingham Urban Debate League competitions for the 2025-26 year. Competitions will be hosted over four days. The champions and top speaker awards will be earned through the cumulation of rounds for each division. Partnerships must compete in at least three of four competitions to be eligible to earn trophies and debate camp scholarships in line with NAUDL guidelines.

Format: Public Forum

Topic: Resolved: The People’s Republic of China should substantially reduce its international extraction of natural resources.

Divisions: Middle School and High School

Dates: January 15, February 19, March 19, April 16

Location: Bush Hills STEAM

Time:

- 3:30PM: Check In

- 4:00PM: Drop Deadline

- 4:10PM: Pairings + Judge Training

- 4:30PM: Round 1

- 5:45PM: Round 2

- 6:30PM: Closing Program

Registration Deadline: The Monday the week of the competition.

Judge conduct disclaimer: The tournament reserves the right to refuse or remove any judge from the pool at its sole discretion, including in situations involving prior or alleged misconduct (e.g., sexual harassment or sexual misconduct) or concerns related to student safety or competitive integrity.

Decision time limits: Judges are expected to give their decisions in a timely manner. Please submit or turn in the ballot before giving oral comments.

Parking: Parking is available in the parking lot near the auditorium.
