Looking for a way to get more Congress experience before Qualifiers? The Roosevelt Speech and Debate team invites you to our first after-school Congress of 2026 on Tuesday the 13th of January at Roosevelt High School in Johnstown, Colorado.

REGISTRATION:

Tabroom will be open for online registration on December 8th. New entries and registration are due by January 12th, midnight, on the hotcocoaasc.tabroom.com website. A coach or adult responsible for the team must be in person during the event.

SCHEDULE:

Registration: 4:00 pm-4:30 pm [all times mountain]

Round 1: 4:45 pm - 6:15 pm

Break: 6:15 pm - 6:45 pm

Round 2: 6:45 pm - 8:15 pm

Awards: 8:30 pm

LEGISLATION: Please submit legislation by email (karen.buntinas@weldre5j.org) or via Tabroom. Submitted legislation is due January 4th, with the final docket posted on Tabroom January 6th. Templates: https://www.speechanddebate.org/legislation-templates/

CHAMBERS: We will create as many chambers as required due to the number of registrants and aim for an average of 15-18 students. Awards will be presented to PO, Outstanding Speaker, and Superior Speaker in each chamber. No impeaching the PO, no walk-on legislation, and no amendments. Direct questioning for the question periods.

Registration will be $10

Food: Teams are able to order pizza at the beginning of the tournament for $10/each. Pizzas will be picked up and available during the break. In addition, our Concessions will be selling hot cocoa for anyone trying to stay warm! Whip cream /marshmallows included!
