Please note that any event with 15 or fewer entries will NOT have an 8:00am Saturday round, since those events will not have semis. (as per rule X.B.4. on page 47: For Class A, any speech and/or drama event with 15 or fewer entries: raw scores will be used for preliminary rounds and Semifinals will not be held. (Note: remove truncate rank from all tiebreakers in Tabroom and this is an exception to procedures in VIII.B). It must be used for all events with fewer than 15 entries. Sweepstakes points for Semifinals will not be awarded if they are not held.
All events will be held at the High School/Middle School campus area. Concessions will be available in the student gathering area. Map is attached.
On-site check-in is Thursday night, January 29, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Late check-in will be Friday morning from 9:30-10:00. (No student off-loading until 10:00 am.)
After unloading, buses will need to move to the east parking area (the football field parking lot) across the road from the main campus.

Resolved: The possession of nuclear weapons is immoral.
Public Forum Debate – 2026 January Topic
Resolved: The People’s Republic of China should substantially reduce its international extraction of natural resources.
Policy Debate – 2025-2026 Topic
Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.

The hospitality room for coaches and judges will be room 20 (my classroom).
The 2025-2026 MHSA Handbook will be followed.
Fees: registration fee is $8 per participant and $35 per school. (page 46, X., A., 6.)
Reminder – Page 47, X., B., 3. States: The tabulation room will be open to paid member coaches of the Montana Forensic Educators Association to observe the tabulation procedure. Those coaches who are not paid members will not be allowed entrance to the tab room but will still be allowed to view feedback and results.
As usual, no open stereos in the buildings EXCEPT when used during a presentation.
Students are not to enter rooms until the judge is there.
Please remind students that they are guests and should act as such - no tampering with classrooms, equipment, or teacher and/or student materials. Coaches are expected to monitor their students. Vandalism, theft, etc. are legal matters, and will be handled as such.
Hopefully, we will have a fun and enjoyable meet. I'm planning on it.
