2026 State Class BC Invitation

CONGRATULATIONS!

Broadwater High School would like to invite all qualifying competitors and hardworking coaches to the 2026 State Class BC Speech, Drama and Debate tournament on January 30 and 31, 2026. To celebrate all it requires to get to this final show, we encourage all coaches and competitors to dress with as much SPARKLE, GLITTER and GLAM as possible throughout the tournament. And bring your rhinestones, tiaras, and fancy threads for awards!

ENTRANCE:

Please enter at the NEW! elementary entrance on North Pine

CHECK IN:

  • Please register with Allie at the NEW! elementary office on Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

  • Your nametag is your ticket to the show! Please wear it at all times

DEADLINES:

FEES:

  • $8 per competitor, calculated on Tuesday, January 27, 2026

  • Purchase orders and checks will be accepted

DROPS:

  • Please text drops to Denise Bakkum, (406) 461-5120

RULES:

With the exception of possibly asking coaches to judge rounds, all MHSA rules will be followed.

STUDENT COMMONS:

NEW! Students will use the lunchroom and adjacent elementary gym

CONCESSIONS:

If you plan to run a tab, please bring a sheet with your competitor names and their meal amounts. You will be able to pay with a card. Please do not bring a PO.

HOSPITALITY ROOM:

FCS Room for coaches, judges and bus drivers

TAB ROOM:

  • We will use the Community Room as a general coaches’ area

  • NEW! The library across the hall will be used as the official tabroom

  • Comment sheets will be in the Community Room for all coaches

TAB ASSIGNMENTS:

  • Tabbing will be done using tabroom

  • Assignments will go out in a couple weeks

  • REMINDER You must be a paid member of MFEA to be in the tabroom

COMPETITION DETAILS:

  • FOUR preliminary rounds for individual events

  • Worst scores will be dropped

  • Events with 16 or fewer competitors will be in TWO SECTIONS

  • NO SEMIS for individual events with 11 or fewer competitors

  • NO QUARTER FINALS for debate events with 7 or fewer competitors

  • NO SEMI FINALS for debate events with 3 or fewer competitors

  • NO Sweepstakes points will be awarded if a semi, or quarter final is not run

  • Please remind your fans and parents that the student commons, tab room and hospitality room are for judges, coaches, and competitors only

  • Anyone in the wrong space will be asked to leave
