DEADLINES

Student Entries Due: 12/09/25 @ 8:00 PM

Judge Entires Due: 12/11/25 @ 8:00 PM. (Tabroom will allow registration up until the start so coaches can add last minute judges, but please follow this deadline.)

Drops Due: 12/12/25 @ 7AM. If you have a drop after the tournament starts, please report it to the tabroom ASAP.

JUDGES

Judges MUST have a linked Tabroom account.

There is one main judging category you will register all judges. To adjust availability (Not judging on Saturday, for instance), click “Round” under Availability after registering, and strike any timeslots they will not be available. This is also useful if a judge cannot be there all day. Judges should also be able to do this themselves on their account.

o Note that the judge burden is based off each individual slot. For instance, if your judge burden is 3, and one of those 3 judges is not available in timeslot 2, then you will be “short” one judge until you fill one more slot in timeslot 2.

o The judge burden has been adjusted. There is no burden for IE, however your debate burden (1 per 2 students, and 1 per 5 in congress) will apply for the entire day, even after the debate rounds are complete so that we have judges for the IEs.

· Judge requirements:

o 1 judge per five students in Congress.

o 1 Judge per 2 students in CX, PF, and LD (1 per team of 2, and 1 per two LD)

o Please fill judge requirements; penalty of $20 per judge-forfeiture round.

· Judges’ training will be at 8:00 AM on Saturday. Food and drinks will be provided for judges.

· Please ensure judges are registered on Tabroom with accounts prior to the tournament and are on time to judge training. Please reach out to Joey with questions prior to the tournament, so we can focus on training the judges on tournament day.

ETHICS

Students should follow the NSDA Code of Honor and the current UDCA Code of Ethics. Encourage classiness and cleanliness from your kids and make sure they respect property by keeping areas clean, not touching classroom items, and staying out of rooms with no adults. Students in classrooms without an adult will forfeit events for the student and sweepstakes for the team.

POLICY INFO/DISCLOSURE

For Policy judging, we focus on having judges who understand Policy. Because this is a limited number, we will prioritize keeping the same judges in Policy even if this means a team has the same judge twice (But not debating the same side).

If there is one event that causes us to stay late, it will be Policy. Please tell any Policy students to be prepared to show up to rounds on time and limit any small talk before rounds. We will be asking judges to do the same.

CONGRESS JUDGING DISCLOSURE

Because Congress is so large and there are three judges, it is almost guaranteed a judge will have to judge someone they know. If there is a major conflict of interest identified, please find Joey.

FEES

There will be a $4 fee per student, per event. There will be a $25 fee per school per day.

CONTACT

Please reach out to me with any Tabroom-related questions. Reach out to Jenifer Andrus (435-229-0920) with any tournament logistics-related questions.

Food

There are no fast food/restaurants within walking distance of the school. Coaches need to plan on making arrangements for providing lunch for their students. There are pizza places close by that deliver and we can also put food in our refrigerators that you bring for your students. Please plan on feeding your students for lunch during the tournament so they don’t go hungry.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

We will start the rounds early, any chance we get, so please plan accordingly, and tell debaters to check Tabroom postings frequently.
