Speech Scheduling & Tiebreaker TOC Protocols

All speech events will follow PHSSL rules, except Declamation which will follow CFL rules.

Speech will schedule based on the TOC Criteria:

• Events above 8 entries will run a final round.
• Events above 30 entries will run a semifinal round.

As per TOC Guidelines, tiebreakers must be posted prior to the start of the tournament, so without further ado:

Speech Prelims

1. Ranks from all rounds

2. Judges’ preference on ranks (if tied) from all rounds.

3. Reciprocal ranks (# of 1s, # of 2s) from all rounds.

4. Opponents’ average seed from all rounds

Speech Sudden-Death Eliminations

1. Ranks from all rounds

2. Judges’ preference on ranks (if tied) from all rounds.

3. Reciprocal ranks (# of 1s, # of 2s) from all rounds.
