Congress Schedule and Legislation

Prelims: Friday, February 27--COPPELL HIGH SCHOOL

Session A: 5:00-6:30 pm

Recess: 6:30-7:15 pm

Session B: 7:15*-8:45 pm


*Session B Start time is 45 minutes after Session A recesses.

Chambers may utilize an "open chamber," but should not recess during active debate time. A 45-minute recess has been included in the schedule to give competitors and judges an adequate dinner break. Chambers must debate for at least 90 minutes in each session and each session will have the same judges. Legislation can carry over from one session to the next.

Minimum Debate: 1 hour 30 minutes from the start of each session.

Hard Stop: 1 hour 45 minutes from the start of each session.

Legislation: TFA Items 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 are eligible for debate. Chambers shall create dockets of at least four items at the beginning of the round. Dockets may be extended as required to meet minimum debating time.

Finals: Saturday, February 28--COPPELL HIGH SCHOOL

Session A: 11:45 am-1:15 pm

Recess: 1:15 pm-1:45 pm

Session B: 1:45 pm*-3:15 pm

*Session B start is 30 minutes after Session A recesses.
