Basic Information about the Western PA Online Tournament
TWO FORMS OF COMPETITION:
Online - in REAL time - using NSDA Campus - Saturday November 1 - registration closes at 7:45 AM, rounds begin at 8:00 AM

Public Forum Debate
Lincoln Douglas Debate
Congress will use legislation from the PHSSL Senate prelim competition. ( the same as the Novice tournament, posted on this website)
The number of rounds of competition will depend on the number of entries; at least three rounds will occur, but more may be scheduled if numbers are high.
PLEASE NOTE - Judges will be in one judge pool for all of the debates AND extemp. For extemp and congress entries, the Tabroom.com system will tell you that you need 1 judge for every 2 entries (the same as debate), but adjustments to will be made by the tab staff to your registration. The judge quota for extemp and for congress is actually 1 judge for 5 entries, but the debate judge quota is 1 judge for 2 entries. Details for async judges must be in place by Monday October 27 at 5:00 PM. Scheduling will be done that evening!
Judging runs from Tuesday October 28 7:00 AM through Thursday October 30 12;00 AM

Four rounds of competition
Double entry permitted in all async events and ONE real time event
Judges can judge both halves of the tournament
COST:
$5.00 per individual (i.e. $10.00/team)
Make checks payable to the Pittsburgh NSDA - address and information can be found on your tournament invoice.
GENERAL NOTES
Events with fewer than 3 entries will be combined or dropped.
This tournament is intended for schools in western PA (in the Pittsburgh NSDA district)
Please be sure to test your videos before uploading them. Please have your students check the availability of NSDA campus on their devices before Saturday competition begins.
AWARDS:
A printable certificate for all winners will be available to download and print on Saturday November 1.
Winners of all categories will be announced on Saturday November 1 when debate concludes.
