Congress Qualifier Information

Welcome to the NSDA Southern Peach Congressional Debate Qualifier!

Logistics:

-- House will be IN-PERSON at Starr's Mill High School on January 18, 2026.

-- Senate will be ONLINE on January 18, 2026

Entry Rules:

In order to have qualifiers to Nationals, we must have 16 students in the House chamber and we must have SIX schools in the Senate. These two baseline entry requirements will guarantee that we can send four students to Nationals!

Entering NSDA points will allow you to enter MORE students to Congress!

Everyone can enter up to TWO students in Senate!

Legislation:

We will use the January 2026 legislation provided by the National Speech & Debate Association.

Fees & Judging Obligation:

-- We need each school to provide one parliamentarian for the day - this person may or may not be used for judging.

-- There will be no entry fee for students but instead each school will be charged a $150 fee to help the district pay for unaffiliated judges. Our goal is to use judges from the GFCA 1st/2nd Year State Tournament to provide a better unaffiliated pool. The fee will cover both chambers.
