Debate Qualifying Tournament

We are aLEVEL 2 district, meaning as long as we have four entries from two schools in each debate event, we will be able to qualify two entries to Nationals. To qualify a third entry, we will need 30 entries in that division.

The debate qualifying tournament for 2026 will be on January 31, 2026 and held virtually through NSDA Campus.

Public Forum will use the NSDA January 2026 Resolution

Lincoln Douglas will use the NSDA January-February 2026 Resolution

Tentative Schedule

8:30am - Round 1 Pairings

10:15am - Round 2 Pairings

12:00pm - Lunch

12:30pm - Round 3 Pairings

2:15pm - Round 4 Pairings

All 3-1 records will clear to elimination rounds.

4:00pm - Elim 1 Pairings

5:45pm - Elim 2 Pairings (if needed)

Speech Qualifying Tournament

We are a LEVEL 2 district, meaning as long as we have four entries from two schools in each debate event, we will be able to qualify two entries to Nationals. To qualify a third entry, we will need 30 entries in that division.

The speech qualifying tournament for 2026 will be run asynchronously through January 28 to January 31, 2026.

Tentative Schedule

Videos will be due on Tabroom by Wednesday, 1/28 at 5:00pm EST.

Preliminary rounds will be sent out on 1/28 and due on 1/30 at 5:00pm EST.

Elimination rounds will be due on Saturday at 3:00pm EST.

Congress Qualifying Tournament

Our goal is to seat a Senate and House chamber this year. More information about date options will be sent to member coaches in November.

World Schools Qualifier

We will hold nominations for the District World Schools Team. All nominations will be handled by the Southern Peach Worlds Coach, Pam Childress.

District Awards

The district will award a Student of the Year, Coach of the Year and New Coach of the Year. Lyndsey Oliver will handle all awards for the district and will send more information to coaches in December about the nomination and voting process.
