Lakeville Lucky Duck 2025

Welcome to the 2025 Lakeville Lucky Duck! We're excited to host you at Lakeville South High School on Saturday, October 11. We will hold competition in Congress, LD, and PF.

Please direct buses to the lower/main entrance at Lakeville South.

Novice LD will debate the novice September/October topic, "Resolved: In the United States, national service ought to be mandatory."

JV & Varsity LD will debate the NSDA September/October topic, "Resolved: In the United States criminal justice system, plea bargaining is just."

PF will debate the NSDA September/October topic, "Resolved: The United Kingdom should rejoin the European Union."

Tentative Tournament Schedule:

CONGRESS:

8:30-10:30 AM: Round 1
10:45-11:45 AM: Round 2

11:45-12:15: LUNCH BREAK

12:15-1:15: Finish Round 2

2:00-4:00 PM: Round 3

PF/LD:

8:30 AM: Round 1
9:30 AM: Round 2
11:00 AM: Round 3
1:00 PM: Round 4
2:15 PM: Round 5
3:15 PM: Finals

Awards: 4:30 PM (or as early as possible)

Currently, everything is single flighted. We do have limited building capacity, so if our entries get too high, we may have to cap entries or double-flight rounds. I think the general community consensus is for double-flighted rounds rather than entry capacity, but I will do my best to avoid resorting to either of these options! Your LDers may sadly have to get used to debating in locker bays and gyms, but at least they will get to debate :)
