Snyder High School would like to invite you to compete at The Snyder Fall TFA Invitational!

Our tournament will be hosted at Snyder High School. We will have a hospitality room for coaches and judges with food and refreshments.

All debate events will be solo (Congress, LD, PF, and CX)

We will NOT break brackets in debate out-rounds.

IEs will be allowed to cross-enter at will but must do so at their own risk. Ballots will NOT be held for students who are over-extended and do not make their rounds on time.

Out-rounds will be paneled only if enough judges are available.

As allowed by current TFA rules, Snyder High School students may be entered in events at this tournament and, if entered, will be eligible to compete in elimination rounds.

Judges:

We will have judging fees based on entries, but we would much rather have you bring judges than take your money! We will be recruiting volunteer judges and hiring as needed as well. Coaches, please be available if needed (especially if you're signed up as one of your school's judges!)

Topics:

Congress: TFA Fall Legislation. Prelims: 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 (in order) Finals: 16-20 (no set order)

CX/Policy: Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.

LD: NSDA November-December Topic

Public Forum: NSDA November-December Topic

Prose/Poetry: Reader's choice

Patterns:

All debate (Congress, LD, PF, and CX) will be solo

Max of three cross entries between A/B

Pattern A - HI, DX, FX, Poetry, Duet, Impromptu
Pattern B - OO, INFO, DI, POI, Prose, Duo

Students can enter 3 events per Pattern. There is no cross-entering between LD/PF/CX/Cong and IEs. Students can only enter one type of Extemp.

Judge fees; $50 each section (4 entries in Congress, 2 debate entries, 6 IE entries)

The top three schools will be honored for overall sweepstakes. Points will be awarded as follows:

IE, DUO, DUET, Congress:

1st - 12 points

2nd - 10 points

3rd - 8 points

4th - 6 points

5th-8th - 4 points

Debate:

12 -1st place

10 - 2nd place

8 - Semis

4 - Quarters
