The Roosevelt Competitive Speech Team is very excited to host you all on Friday, October 31st. Happy Halloween! Feel free to dress a little festive!

Registration

Registration is due by 7 pm on Wednesday, October 29th; fees will be final at that time. Any changes after that time will have to be emailed directly to Virginia and Izzy. Individual events are $8, duo is $12, and RT is $18 per entry. As usual, students can enter up to two events. Triple entries are only allowed if one of those entries is for Reader’s Theater.

New this year—

We have decided to collapse all novice entries into varsity this year. We have done this first to provide strong examples for our new students, and second to increase the number of NIETOC bids we can hand out. With that being said, we will still have an honors finals for the highest-scoring novice students so they may still be awarded. Due to this change, please be sure to select the button on Tabroom that tells us which students are novices.

Our captains plan on hosting Halloween shenanigans during the tournament, so download Google Forms to join in on the fun and possibly win your team a "Boo Basket"!

NIETOC bids

For those of you who are interested in earning bids to NIETOC in Shakopee in May, we are glad to state that we are still a NIETOC Bid tournament. The number of bids in each event will be announced as we get registrations turned in.

Ballots & Judging

I may have a limited number of judges for hire; judge fee will be $75. If you need a judge, please email us. We strongly encourage judges to utilize online ballots available on Tabroom to help our tournament run smoothly and efficiently.Save the trees! We are also asking for judges to fill out the section on Tabroom for their qualifications and histories so that our competitors may know who they are walking into rooms with.

ASAP Awards

Concessions/Tabroom

Concessions will be available in the commons area. A judges'/coaches' lounge will be available in the staff lounge in E-wing. The tabroom will be located in the library, feel free to come ask questions or address any concerns with us.

Parking/Drop Off

Please do not come to the building before 2:15 so we don’t get in the way of passing periods and cause disruptions! Additionally, we ask that you use the Auditorium door entrance, aka U door across from the football field. We will have someone stationed there to let you in and guide you directly into the auditorium. DO NOT WANDER THE SCHOOL! Please don’t use the main entrance as it overwhelms our welcome window and admin staff. Thank you!
