Schedule:

Morning Session 9:00--11:30 (New Mexico specific legislation)

Afternoon Session 12:30--3:00 (Federal legislation)

Awards 4:00 or ASAP, House Floor

Events:

Senate (Varsity Congressional Debate/open to any student) (entry limit 10 per school)

House (Novice and JV Congressional Debate, open to students in 1st or 2nd year of competition) (entry limit 18 per school)

Capitol Congress will follow NSDA Congressional Debate Rules. The top six students in each chamber will receive awards.

Legislation:

Submit legislation to Hannah Flake, hflake@eastmountainhigh.net, by Tuesday Sept 2nd at 3:00 PM. Any individual student may submit; submissions from a school as an entity must be limited to two per school. Remember to submit both NM specific legislation AND federal. We reserve the right not to include legislation that is poorly written, formatted, or that overlaps with another submission.

Food:

There will not be a concessions for students. Students may eat in the roundhouse hallways, rotunda, and outdoor spaces, but may NOT eat in any room at the roundhouse. Students are encouraged to bring sack lunches.

There will be a judge's lounge with light morning snacks and with lunch provided.

Judge Quota:

One judge for every seven entries or portion thereof.

Judge Training:

Judges may join us on zoom on Monday, Sept 8, at 6:30 PM for a quick judge training. Zoom link will be sent to registered judges on Monday.
