Central Catholic & Pittsburgh Allderdice High Schools' speech and debate teams welcome you to the 2026 Dalmasse Sterner Invitational at Taylor Allderdice High School, 2409 Shady Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. We will offer the following events:

Speech (TOC Qualifier): Declamation, Impromptu, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Humorous Interpretation, Informative Speaking, Persuasive Speaking, Program Oral Interpretation, Poetry, and Prose (Qualifier for Oral Interpretation of Literature).

Debate: Lincoln-Douglas, Parliamentary, Policy, Public Forum, Congress

Speech - TOC Bids

TOC Bids in speech are awarded based on size of field, see below:

• Champion (1 Bid) - Minimum 8 Entries / 3 Schools / 3 Prelims AND Finals
• Top 3 (Up to 3 Bids) - Minimum 16 Entries / 4 Schools / 3 Prelims AND Finals
• Finals (Up to 6 Bids) - Minimum 30 Entries / 5 Schools / 3 Prelims AND Semifinals + Finals

Debate - JV/Varsity Registration

The JV division of debate is reserved for the following debaters:

• First-year debaters
• Advanced novice debaters
• Second-year debaters who may not be ready for the Varsity division

The Varsity division is reserved for third- or fourth-year debaters.

If a debater/team meets the criteria for the JV division, but you feel they are prepared for the Varsity division, you must contact the tournament director to move this debater/team into Varsity.
