Jennifer Akers Forever Family Memorial Award

The Cabot Forensics and Debate team is proud to venerate our esteemed, former coach, Jennifer Akers. Mrs. Akers passed away in 2022.

She taught 29 years in Arkansas, including 15 at Cabot. Mrs. Akers was a one-diamond coach, though she earned more than 83,000 NSDA points during her 12 years as a member. Mrs. Akers loved that the Cabot Forensics and Debate program was a "Forever Family;" once you are a member, you are a member forever.

Cabot Forensics and Debate seeks to present the Jennifer Akers "Forever Family" Memorial Award to a coach who makes their program and team feel like a "Forever Family." The Forever Family is competitive and compassionate; the Forever Family is respectful and dignified; finally, the Forever Family sticks together. The awardee should embody Mrs. Akers's spirit and work ethic.
