Due Dates

Please register by Monday, Nov. 3, with general numbers to provide an idea of room numbers, etc. Final registration is due Thursday, Nov. 6. Registration fees and judge fees will be final at 4pm on Nov. 6.

Judges

Please fulfill your judge obligations. Judges are due by Nov. 6th at 4pm.

Judge requirements:

Individual Events/Oral Interp: One judge is required for every five entries.

Debate (LD and PF): One judge is required for every two entries.

Congress: One judge is required for every ten entries.

Judges for Hire:

1. We have a small community pool of judges. If all teams cover their judge burden, the tournament will decrease the utilization of head coaches as much as possible.

2. Not covering your judge duties will result in a fee of $200 per missing judge. You may also be required to drop entries to a level the tournament can efficiently judge.

3. There are a limited number of judges for hire from the tournament.

The cost is $175 per public forum debate judge, and requests are due by November 4th at 9pm.We have some judges lined up, but we cannot cover everyone's judging burden. To help the tournament run well and avoid overloading judges, we are doing our best to avoid flighted rounds. We do not have very many LD judges available for hire, so I do not have that listed through tabroom. If you need an LD judge, please contact me directly at tamara.voight@k12.sd.us.

The cost is $75 per individual event/oral interp requests are due by November 4th at 9pm. We will approve judge hire requests based on availability.

Food info and options

We will have concessions available at limited times throughout the day both Friday and Saturday.

Outside of pizza delivery, there is no reliable food delivery service in Sturgis, and the school is not next to any restaurants. Everything will be closed by 10 pm, so if your kids don't want concessions, please plan accordingly.

Arrival and Parking

Class dismisses at 3:10; we do not have a great place to hold your students before 2:30. Please avoid arriving until 2:30. When you do arrive, please drop students off at the Activity Entrance/lunchroom (this part of the building is labeled and has brighter red paneling/siding). Please drop students off; if you need to park buses or vehicles, please park in the west parking lot near the gravel in the far back. You will see some Scooper Buses in that area. The gravel area is also available for parking. Please keep your students in the lunchroom.
