The Kaplan High School Speech and Drama Team cordially invites you to the 27^th annual Kaplan Contraband Classic. Our tournament will take place on February 21st and 22nd 2025. We are very excited to be able to offer the following events: Original Oratory, Declamation, Student Congress, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Oral Interpretation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Duo Interpretation, Novice and Varsity Impromptu, Informative, and Program Oral Interpretation.

As always, I am a bit concerned with room availability. I hope we will be able to accommodate each school and their perspective entries. If the need should arise, we may have to limit school entries in events. Please make your students aware of this. I should know Thursday evening what those numbers look like and will email coaches if limiting entries is necessary. Please be aware that students are only allowed TWO events per pattern. This aids in cross entries and conflicts.

We are making an effort to involve our community, therefore the majority of the judges will be community judges. However, we would prefer using experienced judges for final rounds. Entry fees will be standard.

The deadline to drop and add for this tournament without penalty, will be Thursday Feb. 20TH , at 5:00 pm.
