Dear Coaches,

The Ardrey Kell Speech & Debate Program is pleased to cordially invite you to the 9th annual Steven Davis Invitational at Ardrey Kell High School on February 22, 2025. We established this event in 2017 to honor the legacy of our program’s founder, NSDA Hall of Fame Coach Steven Davis, and we hope you will join us for an exciting day of competition!

We will host competitions in Lincoln Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Congressional Debate, Dramatic Performance, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Program Oral Interpretation, Original Oratory, Declamation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, and Informative Speaking.

This year, we will offer students four preliminary rounds in all Speech events, LD and PF, and 2 preliminary sessions with a finals session (if necessary) in Congressional Debate.

LD will be debating the NSDA March/April topic and PF will be debating the March topic.

This year we will also serve as the single CFL of Charlotte national qualifying tournament. The top five finishers in each event from CFL of Charlotte member schools in Western North Carolina will qualify for NCFL Grand Nationals to take place Memorial Day weekend in Chicago. Students wishing to qualify in DI or HI must also enter Dramatic Performance.
