Houston “BE SOMEONE” TFA Tournament

Entries

• Entries are due on Friday, January 10th at 5:00 PM.

• All entries are subject to a waitlist - this tournament will be small as we will be trying to rely exclusively on school judges.

• Each school is guaranteed two entries per event. Additional entries will be granted if there is room.

• Current Entry Limits: Speech (12), Debate (11), Congress (20)

Judges

• Every school MUST have a judge. This is non-negotiable and necessary to make this tournament work.
• Speech: One judge for every six entries.
• Debate: One judge for every two entries.

Fees

• All events will be free. The goal of this tournament is to provide students a qualifying opportunity, not make money.
• A school fee will be applied at the conclusion of the tournament.This is only to recuperate the cost of the tournament itself - again, we will not be making money from this tournament. This includes tabroom fees and minimal judge hires.
• If the tournament costs $1500 to run and you have 10% of the entries - your total would be $150.

• R1 & R2: This House believes that social media activism has done more harm than good to the feminist movement.
