Welcome to the first-ever tournament of the South Florida Sunday Debate League!

We are a student-led initiative with a mission to create an inclusive debate environment by hosting tournaments on Sundays, making it possible for practicing Jewish students to participate. Of course, we warmly welcome everyone to join us, regardless of religion or background.

As this is our inaugural tournament, we’ll be offering Congressional Debate and World Schools Debate. We plan to expand our events in future tournaments, so stay tuned!

• Congressional Debate: The bills will be released on January 8th. Schools interested in submitting legislation should email their proposed bills prior to that date to southfloridasundaydebateleague@gmail.com. Congress will have 2 rounds, each lasting about 2 hours.
• World Schools Debate: Motions will be released around the same time. This event will feature three rounds, with Rounds 1 and 2 using the same motion (flipping sides).

Additional Information:
The tournament begins at 2 p.m., so no lunch will be provided. Please make sure to eat beforehand. We will have drinks and snacks available for purchase to keep you refreshed throughout the event.

Round 1/2 - This house would implement a 4-day work week.

Round 3 - This House believes that young children should be exposed to the darker aspects of history as part of their education.
