Welcome to the Quarry Lane Open Scrimmage Series

We host these open online scrimmages to provide feedback to students prior to weekend competitions. Debate is live via Google Meet, and Speech is async via a submitted URL.

For the HSTOC scrimmage, times are different than normal scrimmages because it takes place on a Saturday.

For debate, we offer policy and public forum.

For speech, we offer DI, HI, Declamation, OO, Extemp, and Other Speech. Students who compete in other speech events (e.g. POI, Duo, etc) are welcome to sign up in "Other Speech" so they can compete "with" those events but will be judged according to their own event's rules.

Entry fees are $0, but trained judges to cover entries are required. Teams can hire out judges if needed, but must pay in advance of the tournament.

All competitors must be TOC qualified in the event entered.

Times (DIFFERENT FOR HS TOC SCRIMMAGE)

Speech: Video URL is due by 11:59PM PT on Friday. Ballot is released in late morning to judges and is due by 11:59PM PT on Saturday. Ballots are released Sunday. Students can review and adjust the week prior to TOC competition. For extemp competitors, coaches are responsible for releasing their own topics to their competitors, and ensuring a near "live" version of extemp is performed and recorded, then uploaded by the submission deadline.

Debate: there are 4 full rounds, starting at 9AM PT. Link sent via tabroom pairing.
