Alpharetta Speech Async Tournament 1

Hello everyone! Welcome to the first official Alpharetta Speech Scrimmage. Any entries will be welcome to the tournament. Entries must be submitted by December 18th.

Limited prep topics will be posted on Friday Dec 12.

EVENTS:

We offer Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Impromptu, Informative, Oratory, Original Prose + Poetry, Poetry, Program Oral Interpretation, Prose, Storytelling, and US Extemp. Nationals rules apply to all events. Students may enter as many events as they wish.

Each event will have 3 preliminary rounds and 1 final round.

COST:

No fee.

JUDGING:

Schools must provide a judge for every 2 entries (or fraction thereof). No hired judges are allowed. Entries without adequate judging will be assessed a $25 charge per missing judge or dropped. Judges who do not submit ballots by due dates will be assessed a $10 missing round fee per round.

SCHEDULE (Eastern Time):

Wed 12/18 (9:00 pm): Async speech recordings are due in Tabroom.

Sat 12/21 (9:00 am): Preliminary round ballots release.

Mon 12/23 (9:00 pm): Preliminary round ballots due.

Tues 12/24 (9:00 am): Semifinal round as needed.

Thurs 12/26 (9:00 am): Final round ballots released.

Fri 12/27 (9:00 pm): Final round ballots due.

Sat 12/18 (9:00pm): Results posted.

TOC BIDS:

If any events meet the following competitor requirements, we will submit the bids to the TOC.

  • Champion (1 Bid) - Minimum 8 Entries / 3 Schools / 3 Prelims and 1 Final
  • Top 3 (Up to 3 Bids) - Minimum 16 Entries / 4 Schools / 3 Prelims and 1 Final
  • Finals (Up to 6 Bids) - Minimum 30 Entries / 5 Schools / 3 Prelims, Semis, Finals
  • Semifinals (Up to 12 Bids) - Minimum 60 Entries / 10 Schools / 4 Prelims, Quarters, Finals
  • Quarterfinals (Up to 24 Bids) - Minimum of 120 Entries / 10 Schools / 4 Prelims, Octos, Finals
