Update 10/25/2025:

All entries and judging have been locked in the system. This is due to a campus catering requirement. Please email the tournament staff for any changes or drops.

In order to facilitate preference sheets in Novice and Varsity, changes have been made on the backend. Some school judges have been moved to cover the “Novice” judging category, but are still judging “Varsity”. Rest assured, all judges in the pool, even those marked as “covering novice judging”, will be available to judge Varsity debates and will be on pref sheets.

Due to the accelerated timeline for judges & entries, prefs will open earlier than usual: 8AM on Monday, October 26th. They will close at noon on Friday, so we can begin the process of pairing Rounds 1 & 2.

Update 10/23/2025:

All entries with judging coverage have been admitted from the waitlist. We have space for more entries, so as long as you have judging coverage, we will accept them by the deadline of 10/24 at noon.

The schedule has been updated to reflect increased entry numbers. We will now be hosting an additional debate on Saturday: Varsity Partial Doubles. We are NOT hosting an additional Novice elimination round nor Second Year Breakout round, just Varsity. This will hopefully alleviate some of how long Saturday typically has been.

Update 10/14/2025:

Due to low entry numbers and classroom availability, we are moving to a 2-4-4 schedule. Please see the updated schedule attached on the right side.

Additionally, entry and judge information, as well as food dietary restrictions for all individuals, is due October 24th at noon, which is earlier than previous years. This is a hard deadline due to new campus catering requirements.

Update 9/14/2025:

Dear coaches,

You and your squads are formally invited to the 20th Annual KCKCC Policy Debate TOC Qualifier to be hosted from October 31st, 2025 to November 2nd, 2025.

We are excited to announce that the tournament will continue to offer bids to the prestigious Tournament of Champions to teams that reach the semifinals of the Varsity division. We will also continue to host a novice division, following the same schedule and drawing from the same judge pool.

Entry fees are different from previous years: $15/individual, including coaches, judges, etc. This will allow us to provide lunch on Sunday, and higher quality alternative meal options.
