New this year: We are pleased to introduce the Spanish Triathlon! In Speech Round 1B, students may do a five-minute Prose or Poetry reading in Spanish. In round 2B, students may enter Spanish Impromptu, with prompts and speeches in Spanish. Finally, in round 3B, students may give a five-minute informative or persuasive speech (note cards will be allowed). These entries are in addition to the usual entries of up to two per pattern; the burden will be on speakers to get to their rounds on time. Judges will be fluent Spanish speakers. In addition to awards for each of the events, a special Spanish Triathlon award will be given to the top-ranking speaker who enters all three events.

○ We will use the 2024 Nov/Dec topic Resolved: The United States ought to adopt a wealth tax. The novice topic will not be used.

● Public Forum

○ We will use the 2024 Nov/Dec topic Resolved: The United States should substantially reduce its military support of Taiwan.

● Congressional

○ Washington State uses a pre-prepared docket created by the WSFA. It is available on the tournament website. The complete packet will be used.
