Halstead Dragon Forensics Invitational
2025 — Halstead, KS/US
February 1, 2025
Dear Coach:
You and your team are invited to the Halstead High School Dragon Forensics Invitational to be held April 19. Please register online at http://halsteadhs.tabroom.com. Entries are $6 for individual events and $12 for partner events. Schools are allowed up to 20 entries but will be given extras based on space and judge and space availability. In general, I work really hard to ensure that no matter our numbers, we find space and judges for your kids. That being said, PLEASE DO NOT PUT IN ENTRIES AS PLACEHOLDERS. This messes with my planning quite a bit and reducing the size of my tournament by 150 entries in the last four days makes me want to say words that I shouldn’t say around small children. I don’t want an extra 40 entries at the last minute either, but please just make sure entries reflect reality.
Sweeps will be based on 16 entries but may be adjusted later based on the size of the meet. If the size of the meet warrants it, we will break 6 to finals with "last chance" divisions created for our largest events. We also traditionally use our middle school building in addition to our high school building, so your students might have to do some hiking across the parking lot.
We will offer the following events unless entry levels require otherwise:
Humorous Solo Acting
Serious Solo Acting
Duet Acting
Improvised Duet Acting
Prose
Poetry
Extemporaneous Speaking
Oration
Info 7
Impromptu Speaking
POI
Info 10
Last-Chance Prose
Last-Chance Poetry
Last-Chance Impromptu
Note: Students may not be entered in both a "last chance" event AND the state-qualified version of that same event.
Middle School Division
WE WILL ALSO HOST A MIDDLE SCHOOL FESTIVAL-STYLE DIVISION.
