Changes to the schedule were made due to requirements from Katy ISD Maintenance and Operations Staff for an earlier end time on Thursday, permitting them time to turn the building over for school at 7:15 am on Friday. The new schedule will have everyone ending either earlier or at the same time on Thursday evening.

DO NOT ARRIVE AT JHS UNTIL 3:00PM. WE NEED TO LET THEIR TRAFFIC CLEAR OUT BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER THE BUILDING.

We understand this schedule isn't perfect but given the constraints of time and available space, this schedule allows us to not have to cut prelim rounds and still allows for some cross-entry.

BE ON TIME: This schedule is going to require coaches/students/judges to be ON TIME.

We will be requiring students and judges to be at their competition rooms 10 minutes before the round start time; flight 2 students need to be outside their rooms 45 minutes after the start time of flight 1.

Speech rounds also have to run on time. Cross-entered speech students must be physically in the room for their last speech in a given round 15 minutes before the posted end time to ensure they have time to speak without holding the round up.

Please communicate with both your students and judges that we will be very quick to forfeit a student who is late to a debate round or fine a judge who does not hit 'acknowledge ballot'/show up to their room on time. The posted start time is when the 1AC or first performer should start speaking, not the time for everyone to file into the room, take time setting up, take a restroom break, etc.

Willingly doing things that cause the tournament to run behind hurts everyone and causes everyone to have later nights than necessary.

CROSS ENTRY: We have tried to do what we can to preserve cross-entry ability. The phrase "cross-entry is at your own risk" will be taken literally.

Cross entry between debate and Pattern A i.e. events will be allowed for all debate events except for CX. WSD students will only be able to cross-enter if they are on a WSD team of 4 or 5 competitors and all other competitors are able to compete at their assigned round start time. We will not be holding up debate rounds for cross-entered students, those will result in forfeits.

Students who are cross-entered between multiple speech events will also be responsible for ensuring that they get to their appropriate rooms on time and prioritize which events they go to first based on where they are in the speaking order. We cannot and will not hold rounds past the scheduled end time for cross entered students. It will be incumbent on the student and their coaches to ensure that they get from event to event on time.

SCHEDULE MAY STILL CHANGE: In an ideal world this does not happen, but there is still the possibility that we have to tweak things depending on final entry numbers. We made this schedule while trying to predict final qualification/entry numbers which means that a sudden surge in quals may throw our room allocation off.

SCHEDULE:

Registration will take place in the Jordan High School Library on Wednesday, March 5th from 6 pm-8 pm. On Wednesday, please park in front of and enter at the main entrance to Jordan High School.

Late registration will be at the Element Houston Katy hotel at 23653 Grande Centre Dr, Katy, TX 77494 from 10:30am-12:30pm on Thursday.

If you have an emergency that will not allow you to make it to late registration, please notify Nathaniel Council at nathaniel.council@pampaisd.net.

On Thursday and Friday, DO NOT ARRIVE AT JORDAN HS UNTIL AFTER 3:00pm.

On Thursday and Friday, Adams Junior High will host most WSD rounds and all Speech rounds. All CX, Congress, LD, and PF rounds will be at Jordan. There will be 5 WSD rooms at Jordan.

On Saturday, all main events will be at Jordan HS except for a small number of quarterfinal rounds of Speech events. All consolation events will be at Adams JH.
