Payment Information:
We are so sorry for the delay in our payment process! Fortunately, the technical problems were fixed in time for the weekend. We have created and double checked the Event Brite against invoices. If you have paid by check or are waiting for a W9 to pay by check, please ignore. For everyone else who wishes to pay by credit card, please use this link:
You will find and select a ticket based on your school name or registered name. Please be sure you are selecting the correct one.
I also highly encourage everyone to check and compare invoices BEFORE you pay. Please see Erika on Zoom or contact via email at erthomas@fullerton.edu if you have concerns or suspect that there are inaccuracies on the invoices. We recognize that there could be errors and miscommunication in judge fines as the system automatically issues them and, in some cases, we have worked out alternative arrangements for your judging. Again, let me know prior to paying if you suspect there are errors.
We are requesting that, if possible, please pay by the end of the day or even before awards, however, as a courtesy to the site's late start, this site can take payments through Wednesday, October 22, 2025 by 11:59 pm.

The extemp prep room link for Sunday is a zoom breakout room:
https://fullerton.zoom.us/j/81128072255
--Extemp questions will be provided for all speakers in this virtual Extemp Prep Room.
--Go to breakout room “Extemp Prep”.
--If you don’t see the breakout room options, go to “more” at the bottom of your zoom and click on “breakout rooms” and scroll down to the extemp prep room.
--Students do need to make themselves known to the extemp proctor before leaving the room, but they do not need to stay in that room after receiving their assigned speaker questions.
--The extemp proctor will post the questions into the chat window at the specified time.
--The students are allowed one notecard for notes during the speech presentation.
--There aren’t time signals but they can time themselves in the round.
--Just a reminder if you have students in extemp who are also double entered in pattern A, to go to the extemp prep room at the start of prep, and make sure to prioritize performing their extemp first before their other event.
Topics for rounds:
Round 1, domestic politics
Round 2, domestic economy
Round 3, international
Finals, pop culture

Judging Training Instructions
We encourage judges who are new to judging (or ones that would like a refresher) to view the following video from 2020 tournament’s virtual judge training(the run time is almost 90 minutes). However, there are explanations of every event so you can feel free to watch the events that are most relevant to you.
The video begins with general tab room/judging instructions and then is followed by debate event explanations. Explanations of judging the various Individual Events begins at about 48:40.***(see below for changes to IEs since this video)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKDNDoO7uVA
Additional judge instructions are available for download on the Tournament’s main page. You can also find debate topics, Congress legislation, and the invitation with schedules (links are on the right side under “Pages & Uploads”).
These judge instructions should appear at the top of the ballot as well so you can see them during the round.

TECH ISSUES?
Can’t hear/see in round? Check these things first:
· --Are you using Chrome? If not, use Chrome.
· --Audio—check the arrow next to the mic icon, and see if there are other choices for audio. You may just need to choose a different audio input.
· --Video—perhaps the same for choosing your camera.
· --When in doubt, restart and go back into the room.
--If still not working, go to the helproom and we will help you.
-----
The tournament HELPROOM is available:
--if you have a tech issue that you can't solve
--judges can wait there so we know we can push you a ballot if we need to
--if you have a tab issue that needs to be resolved
--extemp prep will be here in a breakout room Sunday
--we also accept good (or bad) cat jokes, and we might be offering them here all day

Welcome to our site!
Update: I am thrilled to report that our tournament has earned final round TOC bids in SPEECH and PUBLIC FORUM, and we also have bids for the NIETOC.
The information for the 2025 CSUF MS/HS Invitational is available on Tabroom.com. By now you likely noticed the date change from the first weekend in October to October 18-19, 2025. Additionally, our tournament’s modality remains virtual (synchronous) for yet another year.
It’s been a tumultuous summer for our program and for many intercollegiate programs across our district and across the country. Many college programs are losing resources in some form or another. While our program’s travel budget remains healthy, we have lost two director lines due to college budget restraints and a demand to serve more students in our co-curricular by redefining what qualifies as “high” enrollment.
For many of these reasons and more, including when the university announced the fall personnel review deadline for tenure, retention, and promotion for tenured and tenure-track faculty, we had no choice but to change dates. It was also a very close call regarding whether we could host at all – outside of the third weekend in October, we could not find another available weekend that included the staffing support we needed to host the virtual event.
We understand that these types of changes can be disappointing. If the changes do not work for your program, we understand and express our apologies. Out supervisors at the university emphasize that we are under no pressure to continue to offer this service given our other job demands and responsibilities. However, the remaining members of our coaching staff stand by our decision to support regional/national middle school and high school speech and debate in whatever capacity we can do so. In this spirit, we hope you can understand these changes and that you and your teams can join us for the 2025 CSUF fall (virtual) invitational.
