Austin McCallum Inaugural Invitational

2025 — Austin, TX/US

Welcome to McCallum High's first speech and debate invitational! Many hands have come together to ensure that this tournament goes off without a hitch, and we appreciate you being a part of this chapter in our school's history. This invitational will host the usual suspects: PF, LD, CX, and WS debates, Congress, US, and International Extemp, HI, DI, DUO, POI, OO, and INFO.

We also have opened registration for novice divisions in PF, LD, CX, and Extemp. If those categories do not draw enough participants, we will collapse novice divisions into open categories. We have also offered PRO and POE and will similarly collapse those into POI if there is a lack of entries.

This tournament is on Saturday ONLY, and fully in-person. Located at 5600 Sunshine Drive, Austin, TX 78756, doors will open at 7:15 am with events starting as early as 8 am. We've created enough gaps in the schedule to try and accommodate for any unforeseen mishap or delay, and while we hope to have everything wrapped up by 10 pm, we will accommodate for any Finals rounds that push beyond this timeframe.

There are several parking options available. The street in front of the school, Sunshine Drive is open for parking, even where the curb is painted yellow. There are also four parking lots available: the gravel lot on the corner of Sunshine and Houston, the smaller rectangular lot on Houston in front of the portables, the smaller u-shaped parking lot near the intersection between Sunshine and 2222/Koenig, and the large band parking lot at the farthest end of the school.

If you are bringing a bus, park in the large band parking lot.

Please avoid parking in any of the VISITOR PARKING spots, and do NOT park in the circular bus loop at the front of the main entrance school.

The main entrance of our school is located on Sunshine Drive around 100 yards north of the intersection with Houston. For noticeable landmarks, there are the three flagpoles.

PLEASE MAKE PAYMENTS OUT TO McCallum Debate Team.
