We are excited to welcome middle and high school debaters from across the region for a day of stimulating competition and community-building. Below are the key details:

Tournament Details:

• Date: Saturday, November 23, 2024

• Time: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

• Divisions: MS Rising Stars, Novice, HS Varsity

• Format: Public Forum Debate (2 vs. 2)

• Resolution: The US should substantially decrease military funding to Taiwan.

• Cost: 250,000 VND per participant; 1,000,000 VND per 2 teams judging fee (only applies if you are unable to provide 1 judge/2 teams), *lunch will be provided.

Division Breakdown:

• MS Rising Stars: Middle school debaters with 1 or fewer years of experience

• Novice: Middle school debaters with 2+ years of experience or first-year high school debaters

• HS Varsity: High school debaters with 2+ years of HS experience

Judging Requirements:Schools must provide 1 judge for every 2 teams. Judges in the high school division can be teachers, parents, or any community member who has graduated from high school and feels comfortable judging fast-paced English debates. High school volunteers with public speaking experience are welcome to judge middle school debates. Judge training will be provided.
