Lakeville Lucky Duck

2024 — Lakeville, MN/US

Welcome to the Lakeville Lucky Duck!

We look forward to hosting you on Saturday, Oct. 12 at KENWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL. We will offer competition in Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, Congress and now--Novice Policy!!!.

Novice LD will use the Novice Sept.-Oct. topic "Resolved: In the United States, national service ought to be mandatory."

Public Forum, JV and Varsity LD will debate the current national topics in those events.

Novice Policy will debate the MDTA Novice Packet.

Special Notes about Novice Policy:

  1. Busses/Arrival:Please direct your transportation to drop off at Door 16 (south side of building). Parking should also be on the south side of the building in the staff parking lot. Busses can park in this area as well. It is recommended that you drop off debaters at Farmington first, then go to Kenwood Middle School second. At the end of the tournament, we recommend you pick up at Kenwood first and then Farmington second.
  2. Food:Once schools have registered, you will be sent a google form for ordering pizza for lunch. There will be NO CONCESSIONS run by Farmington Debate. The concession stand might be open for the Lacrosse tournament also happening at FHS that day. Teams can eat near our competition rooms.
  3. Judges: Teams should provide 1 judge for every 2 (or portion thereof) debate teams competing. To help with costs and to provide an educational opportunity for Varsity members of your team, we are asking that VARSITY debaters become the judges for the weekend. JV debaters can help coach the novices for the weekend.
  4. Divisions: Once we see about numbers of teams attending, a decision will be made to determine if it makes sense to collapse Novice A and Novice B. Coaches will be informed the week of the tournament.
