Amarillo High Shut Up Speak TFA NIETOC Tournament
2024 — Amarillo, TX/US
Amarillo High School Tournament
December 6-7, 2024
The Amarillo High Speech Team cordially invites you to compete at the annual Shut Up & Speak tournament. We are TFA IQT as well as a NIETOC qualifying tournament this year.
Please note: I put all entries on a waitlist and will check daily to move entries off of the waitlist.
Deadlines: All entries are due by Monday, December 2 at 4:00 pm. We will accept drops unpenalized until Wednesday, December 4 at 11:00 pm. Any drops after this deadline will incur a drop fee of $10. Please help us to avoid last minute drops. Please email or call in drops ahead of time so that we can correct postings before they go up.
Our campus is NOT allowed to prop open doors or gates. To make this work, we will ONLY use the main front entrance on the west side of the main building (Door 1 behind the flag poles). ALL other gates and exterior doors will remain locked and closed. We ask that you do not open any other gate or entrance for another person as well. We are making certain the school and students, judges, and coaches attending are safe and secure. You may NOT prop open a door or gate for ANY reason. All comings and goings need to be through this one entrance.
No novice events will be offered.
Amarillo High School students will be allowed to enter this tournament.
In order to provide a qualified judging pool, we ask that all coaches judge at least three rounds. Also, we would appreciate any additional names of judges that you can provide.
Every effort will be made to panel judges in semis but there are no guarantees. We will panel the finals of all TFA events and will attempt to panel all others as well. Brackets will be broken in debate and we will power match high-high. We will try to provide guest Wi-Fi for the tournament but it depends on what our school district will approve.
Judges will not disclose in any other rounds so that we can run on time.
Questions about TFA rules can be answered by going to www.txfa.org.
Notice: No finals ballots or awards will be delivered to schools. You must be in attendance for awards to receive them, unless there is a BIG snowstorm.
This is a new resource for judge training and information. Please check out the wonderful work that has been done by students in Texas to help judges!
