RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Each school will get 18 total entries. Every 6 (or portion there-of) over that number will require a judge.(18 entries - no judge, 19 - one judge, 25 entries - 2 judges)

2. Students may enter in as many events as you are comfortable giving them. HOWEVER, No student may enter the same event twice, or double enter in two draw events, ROUNDS WILL NOT BE DELAYED OR EXTENDED FOR LATE COMPETITORS, multi-enter at your own risk. NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE AFTER CONCLUSION OF THE ROUND.

3. Prose and Poetry *MAY* be read.MAY does not mean MUST. THE LINE REQUIRING STUDENT TO PLANT FEET IS GONE FROMT THE KANSAS RULES BOOK - PLEASE ADVISE YOUR STUDENTS AND JUDGES.

4. In extemp prep, we will be following current KSHSAA guidelines regarding the use of Electronic Retrieval Devices. Questions will come from digital and print sources.

5. Coaches will be on standby to judge.

6. Medals will be given to the top 6 finalists in each event.

7. Competitors who perform in the wrong room will be given the last rank in the room they were assigned to.

8. Sweepstakes will be determined by your top 18 entries prelim records. Trophies will be awarded to the top three sweepstakes schools overall.

9. Management reserves the right to handle situations as they may arise to best facilitate student learning.
