2024 ASDCA Middle School State Tournament

Welcome to the 2024 ASDCA Middle School State Championship!
April 27th at BASIS Ahwatukee
Important Tournament Notes:
- This tournament is for Arizona 6th-8th Grade Students.
- You do NOT need to be an ASDCA member school in order to attend this tournament. All Arizona middle school programs are welcome!
- Congressional Debate will have three sessions of approximately 2 hours each, two prelims and a finals in the afternoon.
- Competitors in Congressional Debate may not double enter in any other category.
- All events begin at 8:00 AM. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to rounds.
- BQ will host three or four preliminary rounds with all winning records advancing to afternoon elimination rounds.
- Storytelling and Declamation will run three prelim rounds. Entry size will determine if a semifinals will be held in the afternoon.
- Coaches should be the one preparing the team's entry.
-High School Juniors and Seniors with 250 NSDA points are welcome and encouraged to judge. HS Judges may receive NSDA service points. Have coaches reach out to tournament director with student information to be added to the judge pool.
Entry Restrictions:
- Schools are limited to six entries per event excluding Congressional Debate. Schools may enter up to eighteen competitors in Congressional Debate.- Competitors in Congressional Debate may not double enter in any other category.
- No double entries between any speech or debate events. A competitor may double enter in speech events only.
Tournament Scholarships:
All 8th grade finalists will receive a 10% scholarship to the 2024 Southwest Speech & Debate at ASU summer camp. Scholarships are non-transferable. Scholarships may be claimed during the online registration for camp. Registration will have a box asking if any scholarships were earned. More information about the camp can be found HERE.
