Silver Lake Forensics Invitational
2024 — Silver Lake, KS/US
Dear Coaches and Forensics Squads,
The Silver Lake High School Forensics team invites you to attend the Silver Lake Invitational Forensics Tournament on March 1st and 2nd.
The following events will be offered on Friday: LD, PFD, and Congressional Debate.
The following events will be offered on Saturday: Serious Solo Acting, Humorous Solo Acting, Prose, Poetry, Informative (7), Original Oratory, Domestic Extemp, International Extemp, Duet Acting, Duo Interp, IDA, POI, Informative (10), and Impromptu.
We will award medals for First through Sixth places in all events and Sweepstakes plaques for First, Second, and Third Place.
LD and PFD ranks will be assigned according to record; finals will not be held. Students who enter LD and PFD will not count towards Sweeps. We will be using the March topics.
Fees are $5.00 per person per event and $10.00 per Duet/Duo Team/IDA team unless you charge more for your tournament, in which case I expect reciprocal payment.
You may enter as many as you like in each event up to 3. Your top 15 entries will count towards Sweeps. Sweeps will only count preliminary rounds.
Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first serve basis. If you would like extras, I will grant those to people who have given them to me and my NSDA and MEL league members first.
Participants may NOT double enter in two prep events (Extemp, IDA), and if doubling in Duo and Duet, you must perform separate pieces. Students can triple enter in Impromptu. I will allow triple entry across the board, but be aware that we are in two buildings and the walk back and forth may prevent students from being able to arrive to all three events on time.
Extemp topics will come from recent magazine and newspaper articles, starting from December 1st forward.
Registration will be via Tabroom.com. New entries are due by 11:00 PM, Monday, February 26th. Fees owed will be fixed at that time.
