Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the return of the Stratford Shamrock Tournament! We are excited to be hosting an in person tournament this March 23rd, 2024.

This will be a Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum tournament. Fees will be $30/LD competitor and $50/Public Forum team, with a one-time $50 school entry fee. Please make checks out to "Stratford Schools" and send them to the address on your invoice. We are working on getting some sort of digital payment system, but it may not be ready in time for the event.

Novice in this instance refers to Middle School competitors only.

For PF and LD, the topics will be:

Lincoln-Douglas Debate – 2024 March/April Topic Resolved: The primary objective of the United States criminal justice system ought to be rehabilitation.

Public Forum Debate – 2024 March Topic Resolved: In the United States, collegiate student-athletes should be classified as employees of their educational institution.

LOGISTICS

This tournament will be in person at the Stratford Great Mall Parkway location. The address is: 341 Great Mall Pkwy, Milpitas, CA 95035. Rounds will be announced via e-mail and SMS, ballots will be tabulated digitally. Students and judges should also register their e-mail and phone number (if applicable) with their tabroom account so that information.

Awards
The top 5 debaters/teams in Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum will get medals. The top 5 speakers in each category will get certificates.
