The EPISD/YISD Swing will be held Feb. 2-23, 2024. This tournament will be held at Burges High School both days. The EPISD tournament is on Friday, and YISD is on Saturday.

All schools are limited to 6 entries in Congress and 4 in all other events for each day of the swing. There will be a waitlist to put additional entries above the initial 4 and we will clear the waitlist if we need entries to make numbers (we absolutely want every event to have enough entries to get points for state!) or if we can do so without drastically increasing our judge numbers, so please put any additional entries who would like to compete in an event on the waitlist!

This is a community tournament, the host school is not responsible for finding judges, all of us are! So we need every school who is competing to try to bring two judges, in addition to the coach, for each round. and if you can bring more, PLEASE DO!!! If you have any contacts that might help send judges, please reach out to them.

Out rounds will be paneled only if we have judges available.

Brackets will be broken in debate.

LD and PF will be using the February TFA Topics!!!

Friday:

8:30-4: Congress (Items 12, 14, 19, 10, 18 for prelims in that order, 11, 13, 16, 17, 7 for finals - the students may set the order in the chamber for finals)

Debate (PF/LD): Students can enter one debate and nothing else

4:30: Rd 1

5:30: Rd 2

6:30: Rd 3

7:30: Semis

8:30: Finals

IE's: Three IE's max per student, 4 entries per event per school

4:30: Prelims all IEs

6:30: Semis all IEs

8:00: Finals all IE's (possibly 8:30 for extemp)

Saturday: Students are limited to two IE's per pattern, or one debate plus two IE's in opposite pattern. Each school is capped at four entries per event.
