2024 Bolt Blast Tournament

Friday & Saturday, January 12 & 13, 2024

Welcome to the 2024 Bolt Blast Tournament! We will be accepting entries on a first come basis, four entries per event per school to start, but please put any others you have on the waitlist, and we will accept them as we can. Historically all waitlist entries are accepted.

Events

We will be offering our usual events in two patterns. You may double at your own risk except for those competing in CX Debate.

D Pattern: LD, PF, CX, Duet, Drama, POI, and Senate

HOPE Pattern: Humor, Oratory, Poetry, Extemp, Informative, Impromptu, and House

There will be three preliminary rounds, a semi, and a final in all events except Congress. In the Senate and House, there will be two preliminary rounds and two super sessions.

Please have your initial entries by January 5, 2024.

We ask that you have names entered and entries finalized by Tuesday, January 9, 2024. We will freeze the fees on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Awards

We will award trophies to the top 3 places, places 4-6 will receive a medal, and to the top 3 places (all semifinalists) in debates. Sweepstakes awards will be in 4A, 3A, and 1A/2A divisions.

Judging

We are asking for schools to bring a few judges, one judge for every 8 entries. If you have debaters entered, a judge who will do some debate would be greatly appreciated.
